Shakespeare wrote 38 plays,
hundreds of poems and created many
new words and famous quotes.

In his mid-20s he moved to London and became an actor and playwright.
In 1594 he joined the acting troupe “Lord Chamberlain's Men”.
They even performed at the court of Queen Elizabeth I.
In 1599 they built the “Globe Theatre” on the banks of the Thames.
20 years later, Shakespeare devoted himself to writing.
In 1613 (he was probably 46 years old) he left the world of theatre
and went back to Stratford.
His death certificate states April 23, 1616.
Shakespeare never studied.
He mostly wrote sonnets and left school at the age of 14/15.
